Eggplant and Old Wives Tales

As much as I know that there is very little truth to old wives tales about inducing labor, desperate times call for desperate measures! (Well, I guess we haven’t really crossed into desperate times yet)  This week, we have put several of the common labor-inducing myths to the test:

  • Bumpy car rides: Hard on the car, harder on the bladder!
  • Eating pineapple: Delicious and healthy, but no action.
  • Bouncing on the birthing ball:  Entertaining for Daniel!  No luck yet
  • Massaging feet and ankles: Relaxing for Anna!  Baby was not impressed.
  • Eating eggplant:  Delicious tasting.  Added calories, not contractions.
  • Walking around the mall:  More impact on the wallet than the baby.

So, as you can see, we have done everything as parents that we can think of to entice our daughter to enter the world.  We have come to realize that maybe someone else is in control.  And if we ever run into any of those Old Wives, we will be giving them a piece of our mind!!

Waiting Game

Just wanted to let our followers know that we are still playing a waiting game. It seems that our daughter is playing peek-a-boo contractions with us, nothing substantial yet, but we are hopeful! Keep the prayers coming!

Stats from 7-13

For anyone who’s interested, these are the results from our doctor’s appointment from yesterday:

3 cm dilated
80% effaced

Our doctor said that we could go ahead and make another appointment for next Monday, but she seriously doubted we would need it! Of course, we made an appointment so we didn’t tempt fate. Here’s hoping we won’t make it there! Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. Keep them coming!

And it begins!

Welcome to the Kedinger Baby Blog! This will be the central location for all of the developing info for the new addition to the Kedinger family. Keep checking for updates and please keep praying for us!
